Corona, CA – Corona Mayor Karen Spiegel has earned another major endorsement in her campaign to succeed John Tavaglione on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. Riverside County Supervisor Marion Ashley is the latest to join Spiegel’s growing list of supporters. Spiegel has now solidified support from the majority of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.
Since his election to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors in 2002, Supervisor Ashley’s steady leadership has earned him respect throughout Riverside County.
“Mayor Karen Spiegel is a true public servant, who works tirelessly to improve the lives of her constituents,” said Supervisor Ashley. “Through our work together on the Riverside County Transportation Committee, I can attest to Karen’s vision of improving public transportation, ensuring public safety, and attracting high-paying jobs. Riverside County needs leaders like Karen Spiegel, which is why I’m honored to endorse Karen’s campaign.”
“It is a great honor to earn the endorsement of Supervisor Ashley, who has represented the County of Riverside with distinction during his tenure on the board,” said Spiegel. “His long career of service in Riverside County and throughout the entire Southern California region shows the character of a public servant that we all should emulate.”
The current representative for Riverside County’s Second District, Supervisor John Tavaglione, announced that he will retire this year and has endorsed Spiegel as his successor. The Second District includes the cities of Corona, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Norco, a portion of Riverside, and several unincorporated areas. The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 6th.
